The Impact of COVID-19

The Impact of COVID-19

COVID-19 (CDC)COVID-19 is the respiratory illness caused by a novel coronavirus (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)) which was identified late in 2019 and has gained increasing traction in the United States over the last few weeks. It has affected everyone from the singular individual to the corporation as a whole. PBL is no anomaly, and neither, we will assume, are you.

We understand the role our products and services play in researchers’ efforts to further scientific discovery, including work that our customers are pursuing to prevent, diagnose, treat, and better understand COVID-19. As the situation evolves, PBL will continue to do everything we can to meet the needs of our customers globally.

All PBL products and services remain available during this unprecedented situation.

We have implemented cautionary measures to protect our reduced on-site staff including implementing appropriate social distancing and sanitation protocols. We have also taken precautionary measures to ensure that our manufacturing and supplier capabilities are uninterrupted for the foreseeable future. If you have any questions regarding specific product availability, contact PBL via e-mail or phone (+1 732-777-9123).

PBL offers immunoassay products that may be useful to the researchers working diligently to understand this new virus, but we acknowledge that our greater impact lies in supporting the work that still needs to get done during this uncertain time. PBL is prepared to be, as we always have been, your assay solutions partner. Whether you would like us to source and run a multiplex assay incorporating your key analytes (e.g. Mesoscale Discovery (MSD), Quanterix Single Molecule Array (SimoaTM), PBL Quansys), to serve as an outside laboratory to run samples in confirmatory assays (e.g. PBL VeriPlexTM, EMD Millipore Single Molecule Counting (SMC)TM, other 3rd party ELISAs), or to express and purify a novel human cell-expressed protein, PBL is here to serve your needs.

  • If you find your lab closing due to strict social distancing measures or a suspected outbreak in your facility...
  • If you find your lab short-staffed due to work from home policy implementation...
  • If you need an assay services partner that you can trust and openly communicate with...
  • If you need assistance for any reason from outsourcing your sample testing to producing proteins or antibodies...

Our dedicated Assay Services team is available to help.

Image caption: This illustration, created at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), reveals ultrastructural morphology exhibited by coronaviruses. Note the spikes that adorn the outer surface of the virus, which impart the look of a corona surrounding the virion, when viewed electron microscopically. A novel coronavirus, named Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), was identified as the cause of an outbreak of respiratory illness first detected in Wuhan, China in 2019. The illness caused by this virus has been named coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
