Laboratory Technician

Reports To: Director of Manufacturing

 

SUMMARY: The Laboratory Technician is responsible for product manufacturing and ELISA kit optimization and stability testing following established guidelines and procedures and completing required documentation. The individual will routinely analyze raw data and generate summaries of work performed in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

The Laboratory Technician will make judgements based on knowledge and expertise as to the accuracy and reliability of analytical results; identify and report problems with results to supervisor; participate in investigations and data analyses; and troubleshoot instruments and methods.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coat plates and run ELISA assays in an accurate, efficient and timely manner
  • Operate manufacturing equipment
  • Prepare buffers; formulate proteins and dispense into vials
  • Assist in product transfer process from Product Development to Manufacturing (including pilot testing, preparation of documentation, supply planning, and report generation)
  • Perform intra-departmental quality control work
  • Share product assembly, packaging, and shipping duties
  • Participate in inventory assessments
  • Assist in writing and editing manufacturing Standard Operating Procedures and Product Data Sheets
  • Perform additional duties and/or other projects as required or assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences with 0-3 years’ industry work experience, or high school degree with 1-5 years’ industry work experience, in research reagents or in vitro diagnostics
  • 3+ years’ experience with ELISAs is preferred
  • Must be highly attentive to detail and well organized
  • Ability to execute multiple simultaneous projects and effectively interpret data required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong work ethic and a positive attitude are required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Standard Office/Lab work demands
  • Must be able to lift 40-50 pounds

Scientist I/II

Reports To: Assay Services

 

SUMMARY: The Scientist I/II works primarily with Immunoassays, including ELISA and other highly sensitive immunoassays such as Simoa, MSD, SMC (Erenna), customized immunoassay development, cell-based assays, antiviral bioassays, customized cell-based assay development, data analysis, and report drafting to support the growth of the Assay Services Group.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute high sensitive immunoassays like Electrochemiluminescence (ECL) on MSD Platform, Simoa assay on the Quanterix HD-X analyzer platform, and Single-Molecule Counting (SMC) on SMCxPRO platforms.
  • Execute antiviral and antiproliferative cell-based bioassays
  • Analyze data and write client reports
  • Develop custom Immuno, Protein, and Cell-based assays
  • Perform additional duties and/or other projects as required or assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Life Sciences Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years, or Master’s degree with 1+ year laboratory experience required (excluding academic internships)
  • Hands-on experience with ELISA and cell-based assays in an industrial setting preferred
  • Strong understanding of tissue culture, cell-based and immunology-related assays, and assay development
  • Hands-on involvement in mammalian and bacterial cell culture and assay execution
  • Demonstrated knowledge in practical and theoretical aspects of assays, including assay design, optimization, troubleshooting, and data interpretation, mainly as applied to biomarkers and biologics
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills and the ability to execute multiple simultaneous projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be highly attentive to detail and well organized
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude, and ability to work independently

Shipping/Receiving and Inventory Clerk

Reports To: Director, Manufacturing

 

SUMMARY: The Shipping/Receiving and Inventory Clerk is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments, receiving incoming shipments, maintaining inventory of raw materials and other production supplies. This individual supports WIP (work in progress) other departmental duties to ensure supplies are available for continued production.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages the shipment of all products, materials, and supplies.
  • Collaborates and communicates with logistics technicians, customer service representatives, service providers, and others involved in the shipment of products.
  • Handles issues arising in shipping or inventory handling
  • Responsible for the receiving duties: accepts, unpacks, and inspects deliveries for shortages and damaged goods. Delivers goods to appropriate locations/persons.
  • Updates the inventory database and appropriate logs
  • Maintains the company storage areas through organizing, cleaning, and labeling items on a regular basis
  • Generates inventory reports and participates in inventory assessments
  • Maintains the company’s database with entries and withdrawals of raw materials and supplies, based on the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Manages and enters all cost changes into computer systems and prepares documents for all inventory adjustments and evaluate all cost variance items as per business requirement.
  • Assists in writing and editing manufacturing Standard Operating Procedures for shipping and receiving
  • Performs additional duties and/or other projects as required or assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school degree with 1-3 years’ industry work experience
  • Experience of shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing of materials is preferred
  • Must be highly attentive to detail and well organized and have inventory management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong work ethic and a positive attitude are required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and strong math skills
